Patients are able to walk and resume light activity immediately after the procedure. For the first 24 hours there is a tinged fluid that drains through the incisions. This fluid is the numbing solution. Leaking is a good. It stops about 24 to 36 hours after the procedure. The fluid that stays in your body is then absorbed by our lymphatics and drained in the urine. The swelling may last up to 6 months, but results are usually visible after 3 weeks. After the swelling is gone, then the skin starts the phase of retraction and tightening which may take a couple of months, depending on the health of the patient.
