Unfortunately, yes. Once you develop a scar, it will be there forever. But scars usually become less visible as they heal and mature. The process can take up to a year or more. Be sure to follow your doctor’s instructions while the scar is healing. If your scar doesn’t improve or improves to a point that you still feel is unacceptable, then see a skin specialist.
