Endoscopic Surgery is an advanced surgical technique which consists of introducing a 1 cm diameter laparoscope through a 1 cm incision on the abdomen. The surgeon then views inside the abdomen through this laparoscope after passing light through a fibre optic cable. A camera is attached to the laparoscope and the image of the inside of the abdomen is viewed on T. V. screen. Thus, the entire surgical team, O. T. staff can visualise the inside of the abdomen. The surgeon thereafter decides the further steps.
